School-Age Child Care

SACC (School Age Child Care) is a self-funded program that is governed by the Upper Arlington Board of Education. SACC is designed to be a link between school and home for the working parent, and it is our goal to serve as many families as possible. SACC strives to create a safe and nurturing environment within our program that encourages independence and mutual respect among peers.
SACC offers students an enriching after-school experience. Our program offers fun, self-directed activities every day that are designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We encourage students to use their creativity. Physical well-being is promoted through outdoor recreational activities and indoor activities that promote cooperation and independent problem-solving.
Our programming
Hours of operation are 2:50 to 6:00 p.m. at all five elementary school buildings. Morning hours are offered at Tremont and Windermere from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.
Full-time options (Monday-Friday) and part-time options are available. Part-time options involve a choice of a set schedule of either Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF) or Tuesday and Thursday (T-Th). Our program runs according to the Upper Arlington Schools calendar and offers two Early Dismissal days throughout the year.
Enrollment guidelines
To ensure the safety of the students and the quality of the program, SACC enrollment is determined based on the space and staff that is available at each site, and follows guidelines set forth by the Ohio Department of Education. Students who utilize the SACC program must attend the school they attend daily; busing is not offered to another site.
Priority placement is as follows: staff/faculty, currently enrolled families and wait list families from the prior school year who were not placed on a roster. Space availability varies every school year depending on many factors including graduating 5th grade students, siblings new to the program and any students leaving the district.
It is highly recommended to have alternative options for your childcare needs in addition to SACC. You may call or email the SACC office for a list of alternate childcare options in the Upper Arlington area.
